Busy, busy, busy!

Apologies for not blogging yesterday and for missing our on reading/commenting on your blogs! I usually blog at work (shhh!) because I can have the window open and type away as I get a free moment and try to catch up on all your blogs over my lunch break. That’s all well and good until I’m not in the office.

I spent a whopping 3 hours in the office combined over Monday and Tuesday. The rest of the time was spent meeting the Customs officers and officials I’ll be dealing with on the upcoming production I’m PMing. So the producer and I were given a tour through all the “Authorized Personel Only” sections of the airport, the international mail sorting/scanning facility, the port’s x-ray machine and the Customs main office. Needless to say, it was a very cool couple of days.

There were definitely some very good points about being out of the office and a few drawbacks…

  • PRO: I walked a lot. To/from the office, as usual, but also spent the majority of both days touring around facilities, including a few flights of stairs.
  • CON: I didn’t drink much as I didn’t want to worry about having to run to the bathroom mid-meeting. I think I had about 1 glass of water each day and no tea.
  • PRO: No bad foods! No fancy lunches out or anything like that. My producer actually doesn’t really eat (I swear he lives off coffee!) so we didn’t stop for food all day, either day. Which leads to…
  • CON: I didn’t eat as much or as balanced as I should have. Monday consisted of a hard-boiled egg for breakfast, about 4 dried apricots during the day, a few soy beans and an apple. Yesterday was a bit better, but not much. Add almonds and a couple corn cakes, subtract the apple.

Thankfully, it was only 2 days. I ate a sensible dinner both nights (which is impressive as I was scared I’d overeat after not having much all day) and am back in the office – and back in my normal routine – today.

I’m still feeling quite bloated and heavy. I think, though it might be slight left-overs from the weekend, it’s mainly because of the whole bloating/hormones thing. I know drinking lots of water usually helps that and skipping out on that this week did me no favours. Hopefully the return to normal (diet and hormones) will also bring a return to a normal, non-bloated stomach.

You’ve had a great couple of days by any standards and done rather well. It is fun being outside of the office, sadly I’m chained to my desk. 🙂

eating dairy and oily fish, helps with the bloating too.

    • Thank you!
I love being out of the office. It was so much fun and made the day fly by. Unfortunately, that was a bit of a one-off and I’ll be desk-bound for the majority of the next 6 months, at least. Days out are definitely treats to be enjoyed!
The bloating’s finally coming back down – thank goodness! – and I’m starting to feel a little more normal. I’m supposed to limit my dairy (I only really have natural yoghurt as my dairy) and I don’t really like fish, so those are out! haha. I’ll keep that in mind, though. Have some yoghurt or fish oil tablets (those would help, too, right?) next time.

  2. Hey there !
I can so relate to the weekend eating and then the bloating stomach, but hey, we’re only human! It happens. I think you’re doing great, you’re back on track and I’m sure you’ll smash the rest of the week !

    Water water water 🙂

Thanks for commenting on my blog also! I have given all ‘too big’ clothes away to Goodwill. I can’t wait to purchase one of the dresses and show it off on my blog! Stay tuned 🙂

    • Thank you so much. 🙂
This week has been going well. I still feel like I’m back where I was a month ago when this all just started, but I’m sure I’m not and I can’t let myself lose motivation. Re-reading old posts is helping with that! And, yep, lots of water has been helping the bloating.
Giving things to Goodwill is definitely a great thing. And I’m looking forward to seeing which dress you get! I’m sure it’s going to look amazing – whichever one you choose!
